Mr Bruno Lorenzi

 

Mr Lorenzi is the Director and Founder of Essex Surgical Specialists.

 

He qualified with honours at the University of Siena, in Italy (the eighth oldest university in the world, founded in 1240). He has gained wide experience in general, laparoscopic and upper GI Surgery in renowned centres in the USA (Cleveland Clinic in Florida), France (Istitut Paoli-Calmettes in Marseille) and UK (Oxford, Leeds, Royal Marsden and Imperial College in London) before moving to Chelmsford in 2014.

 

He works as Consultant General and Upper GI Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital and has practice privileges at Ramsay Springfield Hospital and Phoenix Hospital, Chelmsford.

 

Mr Lorenzi is an internationally recognised surgeon and has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences. He completed his PhD in collaboration with the University of Oxford and publishes regularly in peer reviewed surgical papers. He also gives teaching sessions on minimally invasive surgery at Anglia Ruskin University and Imperial College in London.

 

Mr Lorenzi has specific interests in day surgery, laparoscopic ’keyhole‘ surgery, upper GI endoscopy and surgery. He has performed over three thousand open and laparoscopic operations with great success and excellent feedback from his patients. Over 90% of his patients undergoing hernia or gallstones surgery have gone home just few hours after the procedure.

 

Bruno is a keen tennis player having played an ATP doubles match in 2014 partnering with his brother Paolo, a professional player. He currently enjoys padel tennis and running in the beautiful Essex countryside.
